After Hours

As we try to limit unnecessary usage of the emergency rooms and walk in clinics which generally have increased copays we wish to remind all our patients of our extended hours. Remember from the day after Labor Day until the Friday before Memorial Day we have walk in clinics at the Foxboro office from 8AM-9AM Monday through Friday. Our offices in Foxboro and Wrentham otherwise are open from 9AM to 5 PM Mon-Friday. Foxboro is open until 9PM on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Wrentham is open until 9PM on Monday and Thursday evenings.Our weekend coverage is either available at our Foxboro office or when we cross-cover, at the office of Pediatric Assosciates in Norwood. The weekend coverage is posted weekly on the Facebook Page(see link on home page). If you call our regular number the desk or answering service will also provide that information. Weekend hours on Saturday , Sunday and holidays generally run until the major demand for visits has subsided. This could vary depending on the season. Nevertheless if the office has closed, the physician or Night Nurse are reachable the rest of the day and night.

Phone calls after hours are generally picked up by our answering service and the message relayed to the provider on call. The provider will call you back after receiving the message. Should your call be of an urgent nature please inform the service and the provider will be reached more quickly. For extreme emergencies you should seek emergency assistance through 911 and then reach the provider on call.

At the preset time in the later night our calls are handled by NightNurse Pediatrics. This is a service paid for by Pediatric Specialists and administered through trained triage nurses in which professionals will field your calls and make appropriate recommendations or dispositions. NightNurse does have access to your provider if necessary. This has been an excellent service both for the patients who get excellent advice and the providers who have a better chance of getting a bit more down time enabling them to be more effective in the office the next day. We have received rave reviews of late for the excellent and caring service provided by these  dedicated individuals.

Pediatric Specialists asks that you use judgement in your after hours calling. Obviously you are the best judge of your child's condition at home and if you need to call do not hesitate. However for matters which are of a more trivial nature please consider waiting until the following day when our entire staff is available to fulfill your needs or come to our walk in clinic if available.

Weekend and holiday hours are reserved for sick calls and either handled at the Foxborough office or the office of Pediatric Associates in Norwood. Phones are generally open during the peak hours but may be turned over to the answering service at various times dictated by how busy a particular day may be.
