Needle-Phobic Flu Vaccine Session

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our second needle phobic group sessions the week of October 16th thru the 19th. This program will involve a two-session format that will concentrate on desensitizing the children through a group process, video education and by working on dispelling irrational thoughts. The Children will also view a video of other children comfortably receiving vaccinations which can help in the fear process. This group is strictly for those children who have previously required medication or restraint to be vaccinated. This program will be run by our Behavioral Health Clinician, Patrick Sweeney, LMHC.

As part of this process, we ask that the children attend without parents. This is to promote independent thinking and resilience. The program should last about 60 minutes the first evening. There will be no vaccinations on the first night as this is a time to work on helping the children through the vaccination process and to assess their readiness. The second night will be reserved for their vaccinations.

If you feel your child may benefit from our program. Please email Patrick Sweeney at [email protected]. Please leave a cell phone number and convenient time in which to debrief further on the process.
